Social Emotional Spotlight – Sam’s Tips: Meal Prep
Let your child help with meal prep. I know you’re rolling your eyes at me right now, like cooking isn’t enough of a chore, right? Yes, it might get a little messy, but this can be a lot of fun. Kids love to help and feel really accomplished when they get to help with “adult” things. It’s also good for fine motor skill and coordination practice, e.g., breaking the ends off green beans, stirring salad dressing, scooping and pouring flour, peeling vegetables, etc. Allowing them to help with cooking might also convince your child to be more adventurous with their food choices; maybe you’ll have more luck than I did with that one .
